The Ayaba Collective (pronounced ah-YAH-bah) draws its name from the Yoruba word, meaning queen. The name honors the West African roots that run deep through Bahamian history and culture. By invoking Ayaba, the collective celebrates the strength, leadership, and excellence of Bahamian women as stewards of the community.
Collaboration + Vision + Impact
Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future
The Ayaba Collective was born from both a personal and a broader recognition of the challenges faced by many Bahamian women striving to lead, innovate, and make lasting contributions in their fields.
While attending a local conference and engaging with other women across the diaspora, it became clear that these experiences were not isolated. Many brilliant, capable women shared similar stories of exclusion, being overlooked, and gatekeeping—not because they lacked talent or vision, but because systems often failed to see or value them fully.
After years of navigating professional environments where merit was not always the decisive factor and where traditional hierarchies often limited the inclusion of diverse voices, particularly those of women, I felt a deep call to respond, not with frustration, but with purpose

The Ayaba Collective was founded as
A place to cultivate the brilliance and creativity, of Bahamian women and channel it into bold, equity-centered solutions across governance and healthcare innovation.
A space where women support one another while rewriting the narrative of what leadership, excellence, and meaningful change can look like.
Mission
The Ayaba Collective exists to deliver bold, culturally attuned solutions in governance and healthcare, while also investing in future generations of Bahamians through educational opportunities designed to maximize success.
Vision
Empowering Bahamian women to fulfil their God-given purpose and destiny.
